Well, Joe's now 12 months and almost 2 weeks old. He got a new cousin (well, I think it's more like 2nd cousin once removed maybe). My husband's cousin gave birth to a 7 lb, 11 oz (I think), 21 inch baby boy on May 15, 2008. She named him Sawyer James. An interesting name combination, I might have reversed the names, but hey, it still works. We went to the combined baby shower for that cousin and another one who is due next month. It was pretty fun I suppose. Then we went to another cousin's graduation party. We didn't know a soul... well aside from that cousin and his parents. Joe did pretty good and since the party was in the old Freight House (a Chariton, Iowa landmark), Joe was having a good time.
Joe has also really been enjoying the opportunity to spend time with his Uncle Josh (mommy's younger brother), who flew out from Salt Lake City, Utah to see him and visit with the family here in Iowa. I am really enjoying it too and will definately miss him when he goes back home. Too bad we can't convince him to move back, but I guess I can't be selfish.

One Year Old!

Well, Joe is now one year and one week old. Hard to believe. We had his birthday party this past Saturday and while there really wasn't much of a turn out to that party, he had his friend William show up and his cousins, Ellie and Abbie came too and I think he really enjoyed himself. Then we went down to my sister-in-law's house for a combined party with our oldest nice who is turning 7 on Thursday. It was nice to see all of the extended family. Joe wasn't quite sure what to make of all the people, but since he does come from a huge family on his Daddy's side of the family, so he'll get used to it eventually. :-)
