We had lots of fun today. We went out to a place called C.C's Pizza in Des Moines and Joe seemed to really like it. Got him nice and worn out too. ;-) The manager guy there seemed to like Joe a lot too, so I think we might have to go back. I really liked how friendly and personable the manager was and how much he loved playing with Joe. It was definitely a fun little outing.

Hard to believe that summer is almost over. One more day and it's August. I just wish it wasn't so darn hot. I can't take Joe out too often in heat like this, but at least he gets out a little bit in the morning to wave bye-bye to Daddy and maybe in the evening to wave to both of us as we head to the gym. I'm just glad that Grandma and Grandpa live close.

Joe absolutely loves having time to play with Grandma and Grandpa. I'm just glad that they live right here in the same town and can come over so often. Comes in handy.. especially when Mommy is desperate for a shower and Baby doesn't seem like he's ever going to take a nap. ;-)

We didn't go out to any fireworks displays as they were all scheduled too late for Joe, but we did go out to a church picnic. He had a pretty good time and got pretty nice and worn out. He did meet some new people and played a bunch though. All in all, I'd say it was a good time.

Well, not much to post. Joe will be 14 months old on Saturday.

It feels weird to think of myself as the mother to a toddler. He's crawling all over the place and gets into everything it seems like. Needless to say that unless I'm having a monster toothache like I have been lately or something like that, I sleep like a baby at night. ;-)

Pool Party!

Joe loves pool parties!

We went over for Joe's second pool party at his friend's house (who just happens to live in the next building over from us in our condominium development) on the 25th and he had a lot more fun this time. He had fun the last time too (back on the 14th I think), but this time it was added cool because he'd done it already I think. It was a lot of fun for Joe and Mommy too! I think everyone had a good time and we're really going to be sad when school starts again and his friend's mom has to go back to work (she teaches Jr. high school level science in Des Moines).

Joe's having a really good day so far (as you can tell by the picture). Hard to believe that he will be 13 months old on this coming Thursday and officially be considered a toddler (at least according to the state of Iowa). It's just amazing how fast the last year has gone and everyone keeps commenting to us about how fast and how much he's grown.
